The Edge founder's have a common passion. The Senior/Childrens' Mentor Match program is a central function at the Edge firm. The founders were blessed with the gift of knowledge and wisdom from family elders. Unfortunately, due to modern adult location transition have seen a lack of this interaction in their current lives.

Many modern American families have moved hundreds to thousands of miles leaving family behind. Also, many seniors have been left behind. These often forgotten people with such a wealth of skills, real life history and wise perspective are without that 2nd or 3rd generation to pass on their perspective.

Due to the world of liability lawsuits an 'Oprah' type program seems only a remote posssibility. We do however realize the grand power of word of mouth promotion. Almost all urban and suburban have a seniors' home or centers within walking distance. Many, if not all have afternoon social recreation rooms, a time most young kids could use a break from TV and unsupervised play.
Local church, social and professional groups can easily make a monthly trek a reality. One adult volunteer (3 hours and a van) can allow 6 children an interaction missing in their current lives. We can brighten the lives of seniors, widen the scope of children and set up a tradition of compassion.
